How Trucks Pass the Inspection

The inspector connects to your truck's OBD port and reads the system. Two simple things determine if your truck passes.

Requirement 1

No Check Engine Light

Your truck cannot have any active fault codes. If the check engine light is on, the truck will not pass. Get it repaired and cleared before the inspection.

Requirement 2

Enough Drive Time After Any Reset

If codes were recently cleared or the battery was disconnected, the truck needs to be driven normally for a few days first — at least 5 warm-up cycles. Don't clear codes right before your inspection.

The Clean Truck Check (CTC) is a California Air Resources Board (CARB) inspection program that verifies diesel trucks with 2013 or newer engines meet emissions standards. It is required for all affected trucks operating in California. Non-compliance can result in fines and registration holds.

The CTC applies to diesel trucks with 2013 model year or newer engines — including semis, box trucks, and other commercial diesel vehicles above 14,000 lbs GVWR that operate in California. Call us if you're unsure whether your truck qualifies.

The inspection is $99 plus a flat mobile fee for us to come to your location. No hidden fees, no tow required. Fleet discounts are available for 3 or more trucks at the same location.
